In 1985, he ventured out on his own, planting 10,000 trees of the Colombia variety in an area previously devoid of coffee due to arid soils. Initially selling his coffee \"en verde\" due to limited local buyers for parchment-dried coffee, Angel later joined a coffee growers union in 2000, exploring specialty coffees and European markets.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eIn 2018, Don Angel achieved microlot sale of coffee under his own name but he always felt felt distanced from his roaster clients, and even the importers who purchased his coffees.
